Pines AberdeenA walk through downtown Aberdeen is like a walk through history where entrepreneurs and railroad tycoons built and shaped a town once known as ``Blue's Crossing and renamed Aberdeen in 1887. The Aberdeen Historic District was officially dedicated on July 2, 1989. The district encompasses 88 acres and over 100 historic buildings constructed in the late 19th and 20th centuries. CameronThe town of Cameron was incorporated by Act of the General Assembly in 1876, and town limits were set comprising a square one mile wide with the center of the square at the depot lot of the Raleigh & Augusta Airline Railroad. The new town's growth was prompt and vigorous. CarthageCarthage has been the county seat of Moore County since 1784. Patrick however set out to make his town a health resort. Today the town is a southern belle with over 9,500 people calling Southern Pines home.
